What a reading is, and is not.

Palmistry is a traditional interpretive practice offered for entertainment, reflection and personal insight. It should not replace professional medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.

Palmistry is a traditional interpretive practice rather than a scientifically proven method for predicting specific future events. Readings are intended for reflection, curiosity and entertainment.

Palmistry has a long history as a way of describing character and reflecting on a life. It has no demonstrated ability to foresee specific future events, and we make no such claim. Where a reading uses phrases like “traditionally associated with” or “often interpreted as”, that is exactly what is meant: this is what the tradition says, not a statement of fact about your future.

• Diagnose an illness or comment on your health
• Predict a date of death, or a lifespan from the length of a line
• Tell you whether you are or will be pregnant
• Advise you on investments, legal matters or medication
• Offer a psychological diagnosis
• Guarantee a marriage, a job, a windfall or any other outcome

If you ask a question of this kind, your reader will say plainly that it is outside what a reading can honestly do, and will answer what it can instead.

A reading is a description to sit with, and to argue with if it does not fit. If anything in one leaves you concerned about your health, your safety or your state of mind, please speak to a doctor or another qualified professional. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line — a palm reading is not the right place to take that.
